‘Walking Paths’ at Romsey Art Festival

This weekend, on Saturday 3rd August, the site-adaptive duet Walking Paths will be shown in Cambridge as part of Romsey Art Festival.

The work will be performed at 5:45-6:30 and 6:45-7:30 at the intersection of Mill Road and MacKenzie Road.

After doing some initial research earlier this year with a colleague, I worked with two lovely dancers for an intensive R&D period to revisit and expand upon one of the themes explored in Right. Left, right. Left. Right…left. I consider this ongoing research, and the work that will be shown more of a work-in-progress or scratch performance than a finished, polished work. I think we are all looking forward to presenting our research in a different setting, to an unfamiliar community, and to seeing how that affects the work.

After 2 intense production weeks, it is exciting to have our first performance tomorrow. Being a New Mover with New Movement Collective for their production of NEST has been a great experience, and I am looking forward to performing with them and stewarding the show over the next two weeks.

The stripped down interior of the Welsh chapel is thrilling, and just the sort of archaeological spot I love to inhabit. Lots of imaginative potential here, especially with its diverse history.
